Four families of four, each one mechanism followed all the way through.

Sections of analysis02

144

9 per type, from strengths billed with their cost to one thing to watch for.

Test statements03

1,900

Across 19 instruments, every one scored by the same engine.

One language-neutral instrument behind all of them, so no translation scores differently.

TheoristsNT

Theorists: the ones who check

Rarely willing to accept a claim without checking it first. The check is the point, and it is also what makes them slow to trust and hard to hurry.

VisionariesNF

Visionaries: the ones who imagine

Moved less by what is than by what could be. Generous with the future and, as a result, unreliable about the present.

INFJ · INFP · ENFJ · ENFP

KeepersSJ

Keepers: the ones who hold

The reason things actually work, and the labour nobody sees until it stops. What they hold, they also find hard to let go of.

ISTJ · ISFJ · ESTJ · ESFJ

MoversSP

Movers: the ones who act

Quick, adaptable, unusually good in the moment. The same reflex that makes them useful in a crisis makes the plan feel optional.

How it works

How the Personality Test Works

The test is short on purpose. The result is long on purpose. The two are not in tension.

  1. 01

    Answer 100 statements

About ten minutes. The scale is five bare dots, so there is no wall of words to read five times a question.

  2. 02

    See where you sit

Five axes, each reported as a position on a line rather than a letter you either are or are not. Most people sit near the middle of at least one.

  3. 03

    Read what it means

9 sections per type. Strengths billed with their cost, relationships, work, and one thing to notice tomorrow.

Our Approach to Personality Testing

Each one is kept because the alternative is publishing something we cannot stand behind.

01

No invented statistics

The percentages this category gets screenshotted for come from its own unpublished surveys. We have not run one, so we publish no numbers. The observations are written as prose instead.

02

Every strength is billed

A strength and its cost are one disposition described twice. They are written in the same breath rather than split into two flattering lists, which is what turns a page into an explanation instead of a horoscope.

03

Dimensions, not boxes

Each letter is a continuum. Most people sit near the middle of at least one, and a label at fifty-one percent is close to arbitrary. The result says where you sit rather than pretending the code is clean.

04

No living people typed

Associated figures are historical or fictional only. Typing someone alive is a claim about their psychology that they never agreed to and cannot check. It costs us search traffic. It is the defensible position.

The library

19 instruments. One scoring engine.

Every one is five facets of twenty items, and a free run takes the first five of every facet, so it still measures all five rather than two of them well.

The 16 Personality Types

Each type is one mechanism, followed through nine sections. The line beside the name is that mechanism in a sentence.
